When I try to use any other tool it won't work, It just erases it. I tried undoing the eraser, using a different tool, but it just sticks on the eraser tool. I also tried returning my preferences to the default preference but it is still stuck, is there any way to fix this or do I need to try and redownload the software?

I am an idiot. Right after I posted this I changed the color using the auto fill tool and next thing I know. It worked, my bad.

The erase mode in Krita is a blending mode. This has as a benefit that it can work with all the tools, not just the brush tool(and, it works on layers as well). The downside is of course that it isn't obvious to beginners.
