Good morning!
I got a problem with every brush on krita which acts like a real brush (for example "vb2DE soft details"). It is possible to use it regulary for a while, but then it will not spread new color anymore. You got to use another brush (like "fill circle"), spread color with it, and bluring it with "soft details". But - in this way, it is impossible to work properly like an artist (thinks)! Pleas help! ![]() |

try to go to the brush settings, f5, and there, check if there's a color rate to toggle. You'll proly want to set the color rate low, but it will make sure there's some more non-transparent color mixed in.

I do not understand - I am using the original brushes, and did not change anything...Is there a memory-maximum to reach?

I'm not sure what is your problem. Some brushes stops to paint after some time? Are you sure it's not some accidentally change you making?
Also I'm sure it's not one of default brushes. |

"vb2DE soft details" is not a default brush, so I was figuring this is a side effect of the way the brush is configured. There are memory maximums and the like, but they should not affect the brushes. |

I always had that problem (with earlier krita-versions), but never needed that kind of brush, but now I do. I´m using it on Windows 7. Generally I´m very happy with krita (except of using text...).
Here is a video of what always happens (the whole Stuff you see was painted with the same brush. The file is 22 MB big): http://www.cartoonagen.de/Krita_Brushes.webm |

If you are using a pen tablet, your pressure sensitivity is broken.
If you are using a mouse or touch you will not be able to add color with that particular brush without changing the settings. This brush is set to add color to the canvas only when the tablet pen pressure is not full (max), otherwise it will only mix (smudge) the color alredy present in the canvas, note that a mouse will aways act as a pen with full pressure. If you want to use that brush for painting with the mouse, you will have to do as sugested:
You can access the brush settings through the top toolbar (the 4th button) or pressing F5 as already sugested. Uncheck the "enable pen settings" checkbox and change the "strenght" slider on the top to your liking on both "opacity" and "color rate" |

To all of you: Thanks for the help!
I tried again slipping soft over my graphic tablet (bamboo...), and it worked "again". The whole picture was colored with the same brush - without thinking about pressure-hardness... I´m wondering if I had lost the "feeling" for it late in progress... In german there is a word called "Vorfuehreffekt" which means: "As soon as you show a problem to another person, the problem is gone":). I write again, if the problem is not solved (I had no time trying out a longer distance). |
