Removing outline gradient from vector rectangles

Hi folks.

I need some help with vectors and gradients in Krita.

I created a vector layer and a rectangle inside that layer. Now I can select the rectangle and set it to be filled with a color, a gradient and even a pattern.
But somehow I added a gradient to the outline of the rectangle and I can't get rid of it. I tried selecting the rectangle and going to Tool Options -> Line -> Change the color of the line/border on the right toolbar but it doesn't work (it does work if I don't have a gradient on the outline). I tried using the gradient tool but while I can edit the gradient I can't remove it.

I asked this same question on Reddit and an user suggested me to use a "Solid Color Fill" button that should be above the line options when selecting the vector rectangle, but I couldn't find this option anywhere.

For reference here's my screen when I select a vector rectangle: https://i.imgur.com/kayBXiI.jpg

I'm was in Krita 3.3.1 on Ubuntu 16.04 64bit and Windows 10 when I took this screenshot (this one is from my WIndows attempt) but since then I updated to 3.3.2 and the problem persists.

Thanks for your help.

Hi, have you tried to:
  1. select the rectangle object using the arrow tool (in 3.3.2 its name is "Shape Manipulation Tool")
  1. then go to Tool Settings > Line > Thickness and set it to 0.00 px
Sorry, I'm not a Windows user, I'm on Ubuntu using Krita 3.3.2.
Hope it helps

This gets rid of the entire outline which is not what I want. I actually want a thick outline, but I want it to be of a solid color.

So far what I've done is configure the gradient so it has the same color on both ends, but technically this is a hack because the gradient is still there. If you create a new rectangle without the gradient and go to Tool Settings -> Line -> Change color of the line/border this button correctly changes the color of the outline, but once you add an outline gradient this button no longer works and I need to do the hack I just mentioned.

Obviously I can just remove the rectangle and create another. It's just strange that the process of adding an outline gradient to a vector shape is irreversible like that.

Is this a bug? Should I open an issue?

I think that what it's missing is the possibility to delete the vector gradient once created.
As I see it, I would open a report...

Didn't mention that Krita 4.0 has had a massive rewrite of the vector tools in the past few months.

I've installed Krita 4 and will take a look, thanks.

Looking at the release notes you posted it seems this feature is already planned for 4.x, so I don't know if there is a point opening an issue for the 3.x branch.
