while drawing i get these weird performance drops causing my lines to look too straight and unnatural, and overall drawing just feels sluggish. Disabling openGL works but as an animator this makes it impossible to preview my animations.
here is a screenshot of some circles i tried to make ![]() free photos Is there any other ways to effectively improve performance and eliminate these preformance drops? |

What type of pen tablet do you have? Does your pen pressure work in Krita? Your strokes all look like they are the same width.

I used a mouse for this demonstration because the problem was more apparent when doing so. I get the same problem no matter if i use my tablet or not so its not related to it :/ to make it more clear my problem is that the softwhere seems to freeze for a split second shortly after starting to draw my stroke and it seems to make a straight line between where my pen was before the freeze to where it was after the freeze, If that makes sense. |

if turning openGL off fixes it, it might be related to the Instant Preview feature. That is a feature that helps when working big (bigger than 5K), but does create a slight delay if you are working smaller. Try this...
1. Turn on OpenGL 2. Turn off Instant preview from the View main menu See if it still has issues. What version of krita are you using? I think the newer versions might have Instant Preview off by default. |

alright. I am not sure then. I don't know of anything else that would create a delay when you start painting. OpenGL is only used for a few things and Instant preview is the only thing that I know of that would do that.
