I'm working on a project where I have to export the layers on the images I've made as jpegs that are the same size as the background image, but because the layers are trimming to the size of the paint on the layer itself, I'm only getting images that are too small and centered. Is there any way to increase layer size without changing what's on the image (in other words, increase the transparent space in the image)? I've tried sizing and rescaling, but that just makes what's in the layer bigger, not adding transparent space. (If it helps, what I'm trying to do is be able to reassemble the image in parts later on, with all of the layers remaining in the same place as they are in my current image. However, due to the layers only being the size of the content on them and auto-centering, exporting the layers as-is and trying to reassemble it just makes a mess.) I haven't been able to find an answer to this yet, so one would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What method are you using to export individual layers as .jpg files? I ask because I've just exported individual layers by turning off visibility of all layers other than the layer of interest and it exports as a .jpg of the full size of the image even if it has no paint content, or just a bit of paint in the middle. My test involved simple paint layers, so is there anything different about the layers you are trying to export?

Thank you--that worked! I was trying to batch export through a different program (xnview mp), so I guess that is the problem. Is there any way to export all of the layers at once in krita? I started using that program because I don't know of a way to export all of the layers individually without doing it one at a time.

I don't know. Somebody with knowledge of the deeper workings of Krita will be needed to answer that question. At least you can do what you need to do now
