Tools get stuck in Krita

Thu Feb 01, 2018 3:35 pm
Hello,
I'm new to Krita and pretty much to digital drawing/painting altogether. I've been playing and practicing with Krita for couple of days now, but keep having this same problem (bug?): if I choose a tool from the toolbar on the left (e.g. fill tool), I get stuck with it and can't change to brushes anymore, no matter what or where I click, or at least it seems so. I can, however, change between tools by clicking, but am unable to unselect them or change them to brushes. So I have to close Krita and open it again to get back to brushes.

I'm using Krita 3.3.0, Wacom intuos pro and Windows 10.

Thanks for help, and newbie-apologies if this question is a foolish one!

Hi Tengu. Have you tried to:
Go to Settings/Configure Krita/Display, change Renderer to ANGLE and restart Krita. If this doesn't work, disable Canvas Graphics Acceleration

Does it work for you?

Hi, and thanks for suggestions! I tried them both, but it didn't help... still stuck in tools.

How about using a mouse, does it happens with it too? (just to make sure is something going purely on Krita and not on the tablet/windows) also try to change the "work space" to move the tools somewhere else, lastly does the shortcuts for the different tools work? try them too. Again only for the sake of figuring what part is doing wrong.

Edit: Also that version of Krita is two behind the last stable, you may want to try the newest and even the beta.
