How can I stop krita from crashing so much?

I just started using krita a few months ago, crash-free. I started enjoying using it to create & publish unique artworks. I also quickly picked up new art styles & techniques to make it better. Now, something strange is going on with krita. I can now only use the app for about 10 seconds before it crashes. I didn't mess around with the app or it's settings, so I have absolutely no idea what happened. I really don't want to switch apps because i'm more comfortable working in this. Any help to stop the crashes? I'm willing to even peek into the code if I have to.

Um... All I can do is ask you a lot of questions, because you don't provide much information, and it's clear that there is something up with your system, not Krita, because it's something that changed on your system (and zillions of other people can use Krita fine). So:

* Which operating system are you using?
* What version of that operating system?
* Did you get updates to the operating system, and did the crashes start afterwards?
* Which version of Krita do you use?
* What hardware do you have (video card, tablet, memory)
* Have you checked whether your system's memory is still okay with a memory checker?
* If on Windows, have you installed any non-standard security software like total defender or sandboxie?
* Have you checked whether you disk is dying, perhaps?
* Have you checked whether this also happens with a different user on your system?
* Have you checked whether clearing Krita's settings makes a difference? (https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ#Resetti ... figuration)
* If on Windows, have you tried to generate a crash log? (https://docs.krita.org/Dr._Mingw_debugger)

Ok, here are my answers. Hopefully you can get to the bottom of the problem.

*I use Mac OS
*Latest version (High sierra 10.13.3)
*No, I updated my mac before installing krita
*I have latest version for krita (3.3.3)
*Intel graphics card ( I don't know the version) and a remote disc
*Memory checker is working perfectly for me
*My platform is mac
*I don't know what that means, but I'm sure it's fine.
*Yes, I did some peeking in the forums but I couldn't seem to find someone with the same problem.
*No, but I will give it a try.
*I can actually use the activity monitor on my mac to see the threads of processes that may cause a crash. Found nothing useful. (Or understandable)

Maybe this will be enough to diagnose a problem?

Hm, macOS... That automatically excludes a bunch of likely suspects.

The first thing to try is to reset your settings -- that might be enough.

If not, do you also get these crashes if you disable canvas hardware acceleration? (Configure Krita/Display, the option is in the apple menu on macOS.)

I guess you don't have xcode installed? Do you get any sort of crash report window from macOS?

I'm really sorry for a waste of your time... The problem has gone away. Krita is working seemingly fine with no problems at all. I'll still do a setting reset to make sure it stays that way, so thank you for that! Also I do get a crash report window that says [krita quit unexpectedly.] Also, I do have Xcode installed, so please give more info on how I can use it with krita.

Weird... Anyway, with xcode installed, you can run Krita using lldb -- lldb Krita.app/Contents/MacOS/krita (or something like it, I haven't got my macbook handy atm), and then when it crashes you can get a backtrace with the 'bt' command.
