I read the FAQ and I have searched the manual, but nothing comes up in the results. I'm feeling a little lost.
#1 I have questions like: I made a box with the square tool. How do I enlarge a box? When I click on the box it doesn't give me any boxes around the box to click and drag to enlarge the box. #2 Also, is there a FAQ for text? I can't seem to edit text after I enter it. I can't change the color after I have typed it. I can't figure out how to word wrap the text. #3 Is there a PDF version of the documentation that I can download to my phone? I am trying to replace the over priced Photoshop and Krita looks perfect. I just need to get rolling and I will be your biggest fan and strongest supporter. Thank you. PS I make things like Trifolds and Flyers. I design printables and cuttable silhouette for fancy greeting cards. I'm looking for that kind of tutorial, FAQ, videos, directions - anyone? (:

Those kind of things... is not something Krita is very optimised for. What you're looking for is vector tools, and while we did improve the vector tools in Krita 4.0(not released yet), I have the feeling inkscape(https://inkscape.org/en/), which is a dedicated vector editing program, might be much better for your usecase.

You don't say if you're drawing a box in a Vector layer or a Paint layer. The Layer docker will show you what layers you have and which layer you have currently selected for working in. If you draw it in a Paint layer then it's not an object that can be selected with the Shape Manipulation tool (big arrow). What you can do in a Paint layer is use the Rectangular Selection tool (dotted box) and drag out a selection region around the box. Then you can use the Transform tool for rotation, expansion and skew of the selected region. This can easily ruin any other content in the Paint layer so use lots of layers for lots of things that need manipulation in this way.
In a Vector layer, you can select an object (or more than one object) using the Shape Manipulation tool, then you can rotate and expand it. Always look at the Tool Options docker to see what you can do with the selected tool. To create a Vector layer, use the small down-arrow to the right of the '+' symbol at the bottom of the Layer docker then choose Vector Layer. In this, you can only use vector based tools. Text and calligraphy are always in a Vector layer. If you want to do extensive vector artwork, then as TheraHedwig suggests, Inkscape might be better for you and it's free. You can export from Inkscape to a .png file and then open that in Krita for any further work you want to do on it. The picture you posted, of the flyer, seems to be collage/overlay work with translucent text boxes. I'd tend to use GIMP for that, it's free. YouTube has many Krita tutorial videos, of variable quality. |

The problem with inkscape is that you can't actually do anything with it.
I need to be able to make vector graphics and set the ppi. Inkscape is a great toy. I've always made graphics with shapes in some version of PS and created the document also. Krita looks like the closest I can get to PS (which typically isn't used for making trifolds either, but works great to do so.) Guess I'll keep looking. Thanks for the help. |

Hm... I thought recent inkscape allowed setting the ppi. The other thing you could try is scribus(https://www.scribus.net/) which is a desktop publishing application(adobe's equivelant is indesign, afaik).

I'll look into scribus.net. Thanks. |

With Inkscape, you can create a canvas of any size in a variety of units and then when you Export as a .png, you can specify the dpi (ppi).
