Fill layer has gone greyscale

Thu Feb 22, 2018 11:09 am
Hi there, im new to Krita and digital painting, although I have many years experience with adobe illustrator.
My problem is that whenever I create a fill layer, the colour chooser for that layer then becomes greyscale and won't let me change the colour.
Is there something simple here that I am missing? I am using Krita on a Mac if thats any help.

The color of the fill layer is determined by its properties and the dialog you can select a dialog; but the contents of the fill layer is grayscale, like a selection. That determins how transparent parts of the fill layer are.
