I have spent a lot of time trying to select the text to alter it. I saw on youtube you have to get close to the letters until the arrow changes in a cursorlike thingie but whatever i do i cant select the text. I tryied text on a path, but cant selecct there either. So please can you help me, how on earth do i select the text?

Hi. These steps are to enter the text edit mode and should work with both Krita 3.x and 4 versions:
1) go to the "Layers" docker > and click the layer which contains your text to activate it 2) go to the toolbox docker > and choose the arrow tool 3) move to canvas > and click once anywhere over your text to activate its blue coloured bounding box 4) with the bounding box still selected, double-click anywhere on your text to start editing |

Thank you so much!
![]() Maybe you can help me with the rightclick popupbrushpallet.I trying to get an empty one. And i dont understand how i can remove a brush without removing it all together from the brushlist. Clicking new tag does not create a new tag at all in the list. It tells me assigned to for instance favourites or trees or whatever i called it but no category named like that appears in the list with brushes to choose from. What am i doing wrong? I watched a video about adding and removing brushes from that popup pallet but that was from 2015 and there was an icon like a wrench that i dont have. And there a new tag shows up in the list. |

It happens that those who already know the program take these details for granted. And so thank you for pointing it out. |

Hi devs,
Here is how to hang-up Krita easy way: - start Krita - begin new document - activate Text Tool - choose Insert/Special Character - enter "00" (two zeros) in this (upper) subwindow and hit Enter - watch Krita fallin' So, could you remove this "bug", anyway? ![]()

If you're talking about Krita 4, sorry, I cannot reproduce that. |

Why? I used the newest beta version (4.1.0 pre-alpha /git 45709b7/). It is fully repeatable bug. I guess Text-tool should be enough "foolproof" thing on the market, indeed. |

I too cannot reproduce it. (Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS - Krita 4.1.0-pre-alpha (git ea1e032)) |

I guess you should make a video or something to show how you can reproduce it, because, like I said, I cannot reproduce it. As to why I cannot reproduce it, it could be because you're using a different OS -- you didn't say anything about that, so I wouldn't know -- or you are doing something you didn't properly describe, or there's something different with your system, like the default language, or something else was installed or... It's impossible to guess what's up. |

Allright, mine was Win10 64-bit, all updated.
I will try to put here a video if I manage to do it. By the way, here is the information from crashlog:

I can reproduce it on Windows. It crashes when you type in some characters there.

Well, it looks like that the Special Characters dialog just doesn't work on Windows at all. It shows nothing in the character list. On Linux with the AppImage it shows the characters.

Maybe we should update the frameworks libraries then... But I am loth to do that before the release. I think it would be better to just hide the action on Windows.
