Hi,
- Is there somewhere a translation of krita doc in french ? I could not find it. I think the english version is awesome (thanks to krita people !), but I would prefer using a french one sometimes. -if not, would it be possible to contribute to its creation ? I think I'd be able to work on it. What I've already done at this point : followed the link from krita official website to https://l10n.kde.org/. I dod not understood anything of the process to contribute. I subscribed to a french mailing list and proposed me as a translator contributor. Unfortunately after one week of trying it appears that mails are not send to the list and I'm not even sure there is actually people on it. Do someone know an other way to contact someone ? French or english-speaking, it does not matter for me. |

hi mumuet!
We don't really have any translators for french. We occasionally get someone to help out, but it is usually for a short time. The documentation takes a while to maintain and we are behind with even the English stuff (the developers have to do the documentation as well as code). There are a few areas you could potentially help if you want to do French. The KDE i18n group is for translating the Krita application with the UI and buttons. Everything else with website and documentation is mostly done by a couple volunteers. If you want to be helpful with French this is what I think would be most useful... 1. Finish cleaning up krita.org missing French stuff 2. Make the FAQ easier to see on krita.org and update the French FAQ documentation page (https://docs.krita.org/KritaFAQ/fr) We can see where we are at then and what other pages you would like to translate. |

OK, it's more clear now what exists and what not.
I would be happy to help on the 2 points you listed...and be part of the few people that help sometimes for that...as I am not a developer at all. Completing the FAQ translation seems easy to do for example. I have no experience in helping opensource programs, so it's kind of a first I don't know where to begin. Can I translate the missing part of the FAQ on my own, then send it to the admin of the page ? Do you know who to contact directly ? |

Sounds good!
I guess we can first start out with the website. It would probably be better if we worked via email. Send me a message at scottpetrovic@gmail.com and I can give you instructions on what to do next. |
