Pop up palette

Fri Mar 09, 2018 2:16 pm
I'm using Krita 3.3.3. Whenever[well most of the time] when I start to paint the pop up palette comes on. Is there anyway from preventing this from happening. It's really pretty annoying. Thank you. Chuck

If you're using a stylus with some kind of rocker/button, it's quite possible that you're accidentally pressing or catching it and causing a right-click action. I've done this myself and it's annoying when it happens.

If you go to Settings -> Configure Krita -> Canvas Input Settings -> Show Popup Palette, you can make changes to the shortcut control button definition. You can't actually delete that shortcut until you've added another, replacement shortcut. The simplest thing to do is to double- click it to get the small editing window and then click the Modifier field and then press (for example) the 'B' key. This will add the 'B' key as a modifier so that it becomes B+Right-Click to activate the popup palette. (It's not a good idea to use the 'P' key as a modifier because that will select the colour selector tool as soon as you press it.)

Alternatively, you can think up your own key combination for activating the popup palette and use that as a replacement shortcut, after adding it and then deleting the original one. You can use Cntrl+P even though the Cntrl key brings up a temporary colour picker tool.

All this assumes that your problem is caused by accidental right-click activation. I hope this works for you.

Thanks for your help. I did as you said. Except I deleted the right mouse click and installed the same right mouse click again and for some reason it's working fine now. I'm used to working with Gimp and I'm finding this a little more difficult but I do like it. Chuck
