Two Krita Versions

Is it possible to have two different Krita versions installed? Because Krita 4.0 does not show all the brushes displayed in Krita 3.3.2. The brushes that are not displayed include some brushes in Krita format. Otherwise I would have to constantly delete and reinstall.

Hi :-) In Krita 4 go to Settings/Manage Resources and move the Krita 3 bundle from the right column to the left, using the arrow key. Then restart Krita and all the Krita 3 resources will be available. (On Linux 2 appimages can be used; I don't know about Windows, etc.)

Thanks for the answer,
but I do not mean the Krita 3 bundles, but brushes that I have installed myself.

It is possible to have two different versions of Krita running under Windows but I strongly suggest that you don't try that as a solution to your problem.

If Krita 3.3.2 recognises and loads your brushes then I can't think of any reason why Krita 4.0.0 would not do so. This problem, as stated, needs advice from a Krita developer or someone who is very familiar with possible problem areas involving configuration and folder differences, if any.

Using 4.0.0, have you tried reloading or reinstalling those brushes and brush presets which are missing?

Before you do anything, I suggest that you make a backup copy of your configuration folders and files so you can restore them later, if needed.

No problem. :) I agree about backing up. On Linux, I back up the 3 .config files (kritadisplayrc, kritarc, kritashortcutsrc) and the Krita folder (in local) ... any tweaked or created brushes are contained in that, and will run fine (with both the Krita 3 and Krita 4 bundles active) when copied over, in Krita 4.

Before we can say anything, we'd need to know if this is about paintoppresets or brush-tips, what is exactly meant with 'not displayed' and what the name of these files are.

I recall trying to help michealstollz earlier with brushes, but for some mysterious reason brushes that install perfectly fine for 3.3 and 4.0 on my device and others don't install on his device, and I imagine the language barrier isn't helping here either.

TheraHedwig, Basically, this is my brush set: Krita Environment Brushes by IForce73. It is something different to install. It is also shown on the Krita Down-load page. And is downloaded as a bundle and then moved to the other folder.
I wanted to do a bug report, but I can not get in the page. Too bad.

I remember this, from your post: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=151160

The download is a .zip file containing six bundles of brush presets and six associated folders of brushes. The creator packaged them in this way instead of including the brushes (brush-tips) in the bundles.

The bundles can be imported into krita using Settings -> Manage Resources and the folders of brushes can be copied into the krita configuration area brushes folder, to be available at next restart.
The creator also includes a .pdf file giving full instructions. I imported two of these bundles (and copied the associated folders of brushes) under 3.3.3 and they are there in 4.0.0 now that I've updated krita.
