How do I keep brush tip size and spacing constant?

Something that has been bothering me for awhile when testing different brush tips: The size and spacing resets with every tip. Is there a way to keep it constant, like 48 pixels and spacing 0.1? Right now every time I select a new tip I must readjust those settings.

There is no way right now to keep those properties the same if you just want to change out the brush tip shape. Based off what I have heard, most artists all want it to work the way you are describing. Changing the brush shape will not change the brush size, rotation, or spacing.

I don't think it would be that hard to code. No one is actively working on it though.

Quick update. I just added a checkbox that keeps your size, rotation, and spacing the same when you change brush tips. The option is checked by default since most artists I have talked to want it the way you described. In the predefined brush tips area it is called "Preserve Brush Preset Settings". It should be in the next nightly build if you are eager to use it early.

You're welcome. :)

Ok I am testing this in the nightly build and it doesn't work. For example, you can test this by choosing a tip and set the size to something obviously small, like 10 pixels. If you choose another tip with the "Preserve Brush Preset Settings" enabled, then the tip goes to the default size like before.

Even if it still says '10 pixels' in the setting

Thanks for testing that. I obviously didn't do a good job at it. I just did another patch that should fix that problem. I was stopping the UI to update, but it wasn't actually updating the model data where the brush was stored...which was why it got in a weird state.

If you check the nightly build tomorrow it should be fixed.
