I tried using my krita brushes but they all seem to be just one continuous black block and it wont let me edit the size of the brush. please help! If it helps I installed a new brush set >>> http://www.davidrevoy.com/article319/krita-brushkit-v8

Can you post a link to a screenshot that shows the problem, using Imgur or similar image hosting service?
How did you install the krita-brushkit-v8? Is it showing in the resources manager window? What is your OS and which version of Krita are you using? |

My OS is Windows 10

Your screenshot shows that you're using the Calligraphy tool (the pen nib icon), with the colour black selected on the advanced colour selector so you're not using any of the brushes. You need to use the Freehand Brush tool (the paintbrush icon). When you're using a brush preset, the name of the preset wil be shown at the bottom left of the screen
On the menu, use Help -> About Krita and that will give you a small window that show the Krita version number. You saved your screenshot as a .jpg file and this gives compression artefacts which spoil the fine detail. It's better to save screenshots (and all exported images) as .png files since this uses lossless compression. |
