Hi, new here.
I recently purchased a Wacom Intuos tablet and downloaded Krita to go with it. I used the pen shortcut to enter pan mode while drawing, but now I can't return to the freehand tool. I've tried restarting my computer and reinstalling Krita, but that hasn't worked. I tried looking on the internet for solutions and found a few other instances of this problem, but they're all from quite some time ago and were apparently solved in a patch. Obviously I have the latest version, since Krita wasn't installed on my computer until a few days ago, so I'm not sure why I'm experiencing this issue and would appreciate any insights. My operating system is Windows 10, if that helps. |

Hi !
I'm no expert, but as you're new maybe I can give you some clues By "pan mode", do you mean that while you were drawing you clicked on a button of your stylus to use the 'pan tool' (the one with a little hand icon ?). I don't know what caused that you're stuck with it, did you try to access other tools than Freehand ? From keyboard shortcuts (for example Ctrl+T for transformation tool) and from toolbar ? An other idea I have is to go on Parameters > Configure Krita > Canvas Input > Pan Canvas...and try to change temporarily the shortcut. And see if that changes something in your problem. It is not really a fix, but I noted that you re-installed Krita and it did not change anything. That would mean that there is a configuration file that have not been removed. I don't know much on that subject unfortunately. Good luck |

Reinstalling Krita doesn't clear the configuration. That would be a big problem for everyone who wants to update while keeping their settings. I know it's a reflex with Windows users, but it just isn't useful. The FAQ tells people how to reset Krita's configuration: https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html ... figuration
I suspect, though, that this is a problem with the wacom tablet driver configuration, where the pen is set to alternate click or something like that. Try to reset the Wacom settings first (uninstalling and reinstalling the driver won't do that either). |

That's right, I didn't think so much about it. Now I learned something ! |

Hi guys! I reset the configuration settings on my tablet and Krita, and that fixed the problem. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi! I'm having the same problem as you but with my Huion Kamvas Pro 12 display tab. I'm using windows 10 & the latest stable Krita ver - 4.3. I've tried problem solving like what was suggested above but it didn't work for me. It still happens. May I know how exactly did you configure your tablet settings to fix the pan mode/tool problem? Like step by step because I'm such a n00b. π Mine seems like it was the stylus or some shortcut that came with it but I disabled every shortcut on my stylus and tablet button & it still happens. πππ It was still stuck on pan mode after using the pan keyboard shortcut keys. Please help. I want to continue using Krita if possible. ππ»ββοΈππ»π |
