ffmpeg not working in Windows 10

Mon Jul 02, 2018 3:56 pm
I want to render animation into video in Krita, and downloaded ffmpeg in order to do so.

1. I go to the file menu and choose Render Animation.
2. When the Render Animation window appears, I choose Video as my Export.
3. I successfully located my ffmpeg , and chose MPEG-4 as my format.
4. I chose Videos as the location for my finished product.

The rendering process complete, I go to Videos and find my file, which has no thumbnail, and will not open in any media player I have.

What am I doing wrong where I can't get the video to render completely?

From https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_man ... -animation :

By default, FFMPEG will render MP4 files with a too new codec, which means that windows media player won’t be able to play it. So for windows, select “baseline” for the profile instead of “high422” before rendering.

You can set the baseline by pressing the '...' near the filetype selection.

It will also not play in windows 10 movies and tv, VLC or realplayer.

Baseline is already selected. It's the default.

Then I don't know what is going on. How big is the file, both in terms of file size and in terms of length? Does using any of the other file types make a difference?

I went back and downloaded 4.0 instead of the other option, and downloaded the 32 bit instead of 64, and chose static, as I had done before. It seems to work for all file types and in all viewer formats that support whatever file type I'm using.

Thanks for your help! :)

Uhm, can you be a bit specific on how you resolved it? Is it a bug in 4.1? Or did you not have the chance to update to the 4.x series? Because if it is a bug we would like to fix it.
