Hello,

I´wondering why the rectangle tool cuts off every corner by using it on a vector layer. I wish that it will look like it looks by using it on a pixel layer. Or:
The corners should be rounded or square.
Why is it like it is?

If you draw a vector rectangle with a thick brush then that rounded/chamfered corner effect is very obvious. Use the Select Shapes tool to select the rectangle and then go to the Tool Options docker and select the line properties tab (centre tab). To the right of the Thickness value there is a drop down list that gives you a choice of line end/corner styles. Choose the 'Miter Join' to get a sharp rectangular corner. I don't know why this isn't the default setting but it isn't.

Thank you!

And the main question ist: How to export a vector file as vector file??? Which format? I´ve read about .svg for exchange with inkscape, but there´s no .svg...

There is no .svg export but you can copy/paste vector layers and selected vector shapes between Krita and Inkscape. There is the small complication of having to ungroup things in some cases (as I remember) but that's a minor hassle.

So there´s the opportunity to create vectors in krita, but no option to export them???!!!

I´ve banned inkscape from my system forever because of unintuitive usability...

When your vector layer is selected you can: Layer > Import/Export > Save to SVG

Today I did not found the "Select Shapes Tool" anymore (why that chaos of pixel- und vector-tools?!?!?! Why not arrange / sort the tools by usage?!?!?!) - because that arrow-symbol is not for vectors "only"...
I found the "Edit Shapes Tool" and now I´m wondering why there I found the option "convert to path" (or the like - I got the german version) after I selected the rectangle. A rectangle on a vector layer ALREADY IS A PATH!!!??? Or is it not???

Actually no. It's a rectangle with a defined width and height and one defined corner position, that's all it needs to define it. (That and the 'cosmetics' like colour, line style etc). If you Convert To Path then it will be defined by all the its vertices and you'll then be able to adjust them and make it not a rectangle anymore.

Just play with it and see what you can do; that is the best way to learn. Play and explore all the options and parameters :)

Thanks, now I to feel "relieved", because I did not find a "dangerous" bug but an intentionally feature:).
