Hello I don't know if I am explaining this well or not but when my cat jumped on my computer I lost all the brushes and stuff on the side along with the layer options etc on the right hand side I tried to uninstall and reinstall to see if that would fix it but if anyone could help me get that back please let me know as soon as you can

Hi!

Based on your description I can't possibly know what happened, probably mr. catson pressed Tab and hid all the dockers: https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/preferences/canvas_only_mode.html?highlight=tab. I'm wild guessing here, a screeshot would be helpful to understand what you are seeing.

cheers

You can just paste the URL from another site you uploaded the screenshot, like imgur https://imgur.com/

It seems you only closed some dockers, to get back to default:
make a new document so the options and tools become active, then on the top right corner there is a button used to select worspaces (The button is the only one in your screenshot). Select Default, and dockers should be back.

Hope it helps!

If you go to Settings -> Configure Krita then choose Canvas-only settings, there is a tick-box list of those items which are hidden in Canvas-only view. Canvas-only view is toggled on/off by the Tab key. This is very useful for a long painting session. It may be that your cat pressed the Tab key, as ghevan suggested, and your canvas-only settings had the Toolbox, Menu and Toolbars set to be not hidden in canvas-only view.

Uninstalling and reinstalling will not fix any problems of this nature or anything involving a variety of user configured settings. These are stored in configuration files and folders so that after a krita upgrade you still have all your old setting, brushes, workspaces, brush presets, etc.

It would be a good idea to make backup copies of these so you can restore the configuration of krita if you (or your cat) accidentally change them and can't remember what you did, or for if you migrate to another computer. It may also be a good idea to get a separate computer for your cat to use.
