On linux ubuntu 18.04. Honestly, this is a last ditch effort to actually get my problem seen. I've had issues with krita crashing for almost 2 years now and have had an open bug report here for a month and a half now:

I love krita and sincerely appreciate the work you all do for the open source community. It truly means a lot. I've enjoyed krita a lot, but unfortunately I literally can't use the program in this state, even if I wanted to. This is going to cause me to fall behind on deadlines, so unless this is resolved soon, I'm likely going to have to turn to a more stable program.

I can't understate how much I really want this to work, and will continue to help test and provide bug reports where I can. But for now I've got a schedule I need to catch up with.

Edit: Tested on an app image of 4.0.1, and the transform tool works. So it really was the most recent upgrade to 4.1 that has caused this.

Yep, here it is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395979, It appears there is a faulty kritarc (key, value) that is causing the weird crash on 4.1. read this bug report replies, the solution lies in there.

I'm sure the bug you posted is being looking at at the moment. possibly there is a fix already but they missed to change the status. I'll ask around.
