Hey,
is it possible to load a python plugin from a different location than the resources folder ? I'm having the issue that I have to deploy and maintain a plugin on different machines where I don't have access to the Krita resource folder. What I can control is the environment in which Krita is launched. So I hoped there would be a system variable which I can change and pinpoint to my plugin folder ? Any other solution is also warmly welcome. Cheers, Dome |

There are two places where Krita looks: the system location and the per-user location. On Linux, for instance, the user location is in ~/.local/share/krita -- and python scripts placed there will be found and can be enabled in the python plugin manager.

Thanks for the quick reply. I think I didn't explain my situation very well. I've read the docs where the plugins should normally go. Sadly I can't put it in any of those locations. The plugin has to be deployed via a shared folder like dropbox and the artist should't have to manualy copy and update the plugin every time I push a new version there. From your answer/docs it seems there is no mechanism in place to allow for a custom plugin location. Do you think a symlink from the plugin location to any of these folders will work ? Cheers, Dome |

Which OS is this? On Linux, the location can be changed with the XDG environment variables, but I'm not sure about other os'es
