![]() Hi, I have been opening a fairly large sized JPEG in Krita, and each time that I do, it shows up very blurry. I can't figure out what is going on. Initially, when I used Krita the first time to test it out, the image was perfect. Then this blurry thing has been happening when I open my JPEG image. Please let me know what is going on. ![]() Thank you! |

I'm not psychic, so I cannot even begin to start guessing what might be up... Please provide the actual image and a screenshot of Krita with that image open.

When you save the file, after working on it, do you save it as a .jpg file?
If you do then that is probably the cause of the blurriness that you see in your image after repeated working on it. A .jpg file is saved with compression and the compression method involves loss of data resulting in blurriness or 'blockiness' (because of an approximation technique). When working on an image with krita, you should save it as a krita document (.kra extension) so that no data is lost when you save it to disk. When you've finished doing all the work on the image and you want to post it to a website, or whatever, then you can Export it as a .jpg image. The .png format is better in that it gives a form of compression that is lossless (but results in a larger file size than .jpg). |
