I always have problems with Krita. There are no brushes found There are phantom tags made. A server does not participate anymore. I ask now if a new board could provide a remedy. I was thinking of this: ASUS B350-PLUS With Ryzen5 and Ram. A new PC is out of the question. "You want another one again?" Otherwise I will leave Krita

In all seriousness, familiarizing yourself with software in general can be of a great benefit on the long run, not finding brushes (likely brush files blacklisted) or phantom tags (Likely one of the already reported bugs) has nothing to do with a motherboard, or CPU capacity, not even with the RAM. A faulty hard drive/solid state drive could be an issue but not if other programs don't show "lost" brushes/files/settings. Performance on the other side is capped to your pc specs, but that's any software, no software out there can perform beyond what the hardware allows, now there are programs that has faster features than others, that's just the way things are, if Krita is slow on your pc, then you may want to adjust your system or much more important your style of painting, some people use many filters, mask, etc. makes harder to compute and thus makes the whole program slow. Another solution to a aging pc is to try linux, you can have better and much updated software with linux that you will ever have in windows, is not a "quick" solution but one that can save old hardware from aging prematurely, and much cheaper approach than buying new components for the pc. ![]()

Maybe you should try to install the newest drivers for your hardware (what operating system?), or to re-install your os. It is not very likely that krita is incompatible with your hardware.

@boudewijn,In the current Krita version 4.1.1 the IForce73 brushes are not found again. And I was so happy about this. Unfortunately I was offered no solution from Krita. I also could not delete the phantom tags in the tag folder. Because if you delete, you can come back next time.

@ahabgreybeard: Your suggestion with deleting the dumps from the XML file did not work. This data must still be stored somewhere else. Because they keep coming bac

Over a period of time, your krita installation seems to have developed a set of complex and confusing problems, mostly associated with resources. Have you considered doing a total removal of krita followed by a fresh installation?
You would need to first make a backup copy of any external resources, such as custom brushes and brush presets, any bundles (such as the iForce brush presets and brushes) and any personal resources you created, such as workspaces etc. Also make a backup of the krita--rc files for later reuse if you want to. Then you could start from new and try to introduce the external and personal resources gradually. Before each stage of introducing additional resources, you can make a backup of your ..../krita resources folder and the krita--rc configuration files for restoration if you encounter problems. I realise this may seem drastic and will take time but I think that it would be better than your currrent situation. |
