I have just started using Krita today, and was wondering if anyone could be of any help? I installed some brushes and at first I thought this might cause the problem, but when it happened a few more time I checked some of the preinstalled pencils and they didn't work either. This was solved by me restarting Krita but I've tried a couple of times now and it isn't working.
The issue: some pencils/brushes I pick is the same 'style' and the only difference is opacities, when before they would have more of a grain/a flare to them. Here is an image of me using the paintbrush and pencil for example https://imgur.com/a/GjFUvxV Really enjoying this program and hopefully this isn't too much of a big problem. Thanks for your help in advance, Amy |

I assume that you're using Windows 10 and krita 4.1.1?
From your screenshot, you seem to have installed the deevad-V8 bundle. This is a well known and very popular pack and installing it will not affect any of the existing installed brush presets in krita. Have you installed any other brush bundles or packs and what method did you use to install them? Restarting krita is essential after you manually install brushes and is a good idea after you use the Resources Manager to install anything. If there are any problems with the resources then a restart can not fix them, nor can reinstallation since resources are stored separately from the krita application. In the screenshot, you're using the deevad 1e rigger brush preset. This has an 'Auto' brush (tip) that is a simple circle with no grain/flare/texture to it. (On the toolbar at the top of the screen, you'll see an icon that looks like the brush preset you're using, this is the Edit Brush Settings and lets you examine the settings/parameters of the brush preset. It also lets you change them so be careful if you decide to experiment with it.) Can you give a definite example of a brush preset that used to have a grain/flare/texture and now does not. You can increase the size of the brush with the Size slider at the top of the screen to make any brush texture more obvious. |
