Is anyone else having trouble getting the G'MIC inpaint filters working in the latest appimage? It's worked before for me in an older verion but it seems now those filters aren't actually doing anything (but other filters seem to be working).
I've attached a photo. https://imgur.com/a/v68H8GM Am I missing something or do they not work in current build? |

What exactly do you mean with latest appimage? Release, stable nightly, unstable nightly... Could you specify, exactly, which files you are using?

I've just used the Inpaint [patch-based] filter from the nightly build G'MIC appimage with krita 4.1.1 and also with the nightly build 4.2.0 pre-alpha. It works fine and gives a 'repaired' preview image in a very short time. The full processing takes about 30 seconds on my computer.
The parameter values you have set seem 'reasonable' and the only thought to cross my mind is: is your painted mask exactly the same colour (pure max. red) as the filter's default mask colour settings? I've no idea how important this is but it's all I can think of. Have you tried selecting a different Inpaint filter or even a very different filter to see what happens to the preview then selecting the [patch-based] one again? |

Thanks for your help! I got sidetracked and didn't get another chance to take another look until now.
I ended up solving the problem after ahabgreybeard's comment that indicated to me that perhaps the color is off. At first, I used the same hex value without looking into it further but it appears the inputs of G'MIC can get out of sync with Krita depending on a particular project's color settings. Setting them to "sRGB Built in" allowed the filter to function properly. I'm not sure if it's always been like this or if it's related to my setup (CentOS 7.4, Krita 4.1.5) but if on a greater scale, definitely would love to see this plugin's integration being color settings agnostic. Thanks!! |
