Newbie Needing Help with crashes.

Sat Oct 06, 2018 8:46 am
Hello plp, i'm using Krita for some days but i bumped in 3 problems, one is heavily affecting the use of the program, the other two not so much... Now in order of seriousness:
1- Every time i click on "Save As" Krita crashes and closes.
2- I Can't make G'Mic work, tried some things but i'm probably doing something wrong with the plugin download/configuration of path.
3- One Shortcut i used a lot on that adobe software (That one with Photosomething on the name :D ) the zoom to fit, it doesn't exist in Krita or i can't find it?

Now my priority is fixing the "Save As" crash...

My system: Lubuntu 18.04 (It uses LXDE or LXQT i'm not sure).
My Hardware: Notebook with 4th Gen i7 8gb ram and a Nvidia gt 750M (drivers OK with Nvidia as active card... if is good to inform... PRIME is the "Card Switcher" and proprietary drivers v396.54)

Tnx in Advance!!!!

Please then also follow the instructions to install the debug symbols from https://launchpad.net/~kritalime/+archive/ubuntu/ppa . If you can then reproduce a crash, please make a bug report. I suspect it would still be something specific to your system, but at least we've got something to investigate.

As for 2) that can definitely be made to work, but you'd probably find it easiest to use the gmic-qt appimage from download.kde.org

3) Edit: I was wrong... It's there. Check settings/canvas input settings/zoom: the default value for fit to page is '2'. The only problem is that it cannot be put in the menu or on the toolbar, but you can change the shortcut there.

Last minute update!!!
I found out if i create a new file i use it normally save as and also export(yea found out export too crashes) works ok... until my first save then it start crashing.... im installing now the debug...

About the G'mic... i don't care about easy... :D now my procedure was...
1- Download https://gmic.eu/files/linux/gmic_krita_ ... _amd64.zip
2- Extract to my home folder ended with a gmic_krita_qt file in the home folder
3- On krita configure i indicated the path /home/*username*/gmic_krita_qt

So what was wrong?
Or maybe The same bug is affecting both? Cause when i click on "start gmic" it tries to open... but the window soon closes doing nothing....

Sorry, I was wrong about the zoom to fit shortcut.

Please try https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4 ... 4.appimage -- that is guaranteed built with the same version of Qt as Krita, which is essential.

You Nailed it.... G'mic works now...

Now what you mean by the wrong about zoom to fit?

Is there a shortcut? I could only found the ctrl o that makes the zoom 100% other than that there is just the 2 that zoom to fit... but only when the zoom tool is being used...
