Hey I couldn't find a solution to this problem anywhere.
When I open up Krita I can save but after the third or fourth save I get this: } Could not save C:/Users/chris/Documents/Pirate Penguins/Comics/Lost Treasure/Scene 6.kra Reason: } And I can't save after that. I'm saving to my Documents and tried saving to pictures but I get the same problem Thanks for your help! |

I assume you're using Windows 10 and the latest version (4.1.5) of krita.
Is the user called 'chris' the main/only user account on the PC? Do you have enough space on your hard drive? Are disk quotas set up on your system? If so, does user 'chris' have enough space allocated? Did you use Save a few times or did you use Save As and manually select the destination? In your File manager, can you make a copy of 'Scene 6.kra' and rename it as 'Scene 6A.kra'? Can you then open it with krita, make changes and Save it? Can you open krita, make a new file, paint in it and Save As '....\SceneTest.kra' then add paint and Save a few times? P.S. Did you copy/paste that error message or type it by hand? I ask because Windows uses the backslash as a path separator. |

I'm using Windows 10 and have the latest version. I have more than enough disk space and I'm the only user. I just click the save button then that comes up. I've tried the Scene 6 Backup thing before and I don't even get a few saves first it goes straight to the error. Yes I can save about 3 times and after that no, but recently I've found I can save after waiting about 10-15 mins for some reason but this is slows down work massively. I copied and pasted the error message. Thanks for helping I don't know why Krita is this difficult.. :/ |

Check whether you haven't got restricted folder access enabled: https://docs.krita.org/en/KritaFAQ.html ... annot-save

1. Does it allow you to save in that folder if you do a "Save As"?
2. Are you using any "sync" services like google drive or dropbox that might be locking the file? The only thing I can think of now is there is something else on your computer that is blocking Krita from saving the file. |

I can understannd your frustration but I have krita 4.1.5 running on Windows 10 and have no problems Saving work to the ...\Documents folder and most other places. So do many, many other people all over the world. It's not krita that's being difficult, it's your Windows installation and setup. So, you need to find out what is stopping/blocking krita from Saving files. Do you have an antivirus application running? They can be aggressive/paranoid. If so, try making *.kra a whitelist item or turn the antivirus off to see if that makes a difference. Maybe a third-party firewall? Do you have any auto synching file backup software of any kind running? etc. etc. |

Did you update Windows to the latest release (#1809) because, i think i've read that Microsoft has activating synchronisation with one drive on the Document / Pictures... folders.
Maybe it's the problem, as Scott said... Just try to save in another folder to test it ![]()
