Delete outside canvas area?

Wed Oct 17, 2018 3:36 pm
Is it possible to delete selections outside the canvas area?

In some layers I have artwork outside canvas from previous crop.
As I'm using the image (as a psd) in another program down the pipe I can't just resize the canvas or move the layers in Krita without it having effect there. When I move the layers from the document in that next animation tool the hidden portions outside the canvas comes into view.

One hackish solution is to add a transformation mask to the layer and then use an eraser to paint away the area. Selection-delete does not work outside canvas with transformation masks... Would like an easier solution.

Hi animationista,

when I need to delete the content beyond/overflowing the canvas I do: "CTRL + A" (select all) and go to menu > Image > Trim to selection.
