Hi, I've just updated to the newest version of Krita, the one from october i think, and I've noticed everything I save is actually coming out distinctly darker in color and saturation then what it looks like in the program. Actually, even distinctly different from what it looks like in the file's thumbnail, as the .KRA file looks visibly brighter than the png saved. This didn't happen at all before, all my colors always came out bright. I didn't touch any strange settings or even adjust anything as the update didn't change any of my other presets so I just jumped straight back into doodling. I have no idea what could have changed.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's just something i'm overlooking but I would really appreciate the help figuring this out so I don't have to edit the colors in post constantly. It looks so much less natural. Thank you!

Hi there,

you can find the informations about your Krita and OS versions here: "Help > Show system informations for bug reports...".

If you are using an older version of Krita (<4.1.5), then I'd check with the current release: https://krita.org/en/download/ .

If the issue persists, I'd try to: 1. close Krita + 2. rename the "kritarc" file to "kritarc.bak" (Linux: $HOME/.config/kritarc; Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\kritarc; MacOS X: $HOME/Library/Preferences/kritarc) + 3. rename the resources folder "krita" to "krita.bak" (Linux: $HOME/.local/share/krita/; Windows: %APPDATA%\krita\; Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/Krita/) + 4. recreate manually a new empty "Krita" folder at the same location + 5. Re-start Krita.

it's possible some of your export settings changed, maybe try others image saving format/settings.

Check whether https://docs.krita.org/en/general_conce ... gamma.html is relevant: it usually is when images appear too dark when saved to png.

Thank you, mvowada's fix seemed to help! Also boudewijn's info is useful also. I appreciate you helping me so quickly!
