Hi!
Asked on discordapp channel, but no devs there, tried my luck on IRC but no reply. So trying my luck here!

Krita is perfect except for one thing (for me), when in fullscreen mode there's a toolbar showing the filename (save or not) and size. I don't see where I can hide it!?! I am using krita as a live painting tool and this toolbar remove the immersive effect.

Possible to remove it?

Please, don't take this for sure but I think I've read somewhere that it depends on the Operative System.
However, with the latest Krita 4.2.0 pre-alpha appimage it's not possible here on Ubuntu, while I remember i could get rid of the window bar with Krita 4.0.0-beta1.1 appimage.

It is, in the end depending on the OS and the window manager. It's still perfectly possible for me on X11 with KWin or on Windows to get only the canvas visible, nothing else.

Hi, maybe there's a parameter I could add when starting krita in order to access that function. I'm using the terminal to start Krita on Ubuntu 14.04, Unity...

Yes, there are both workspace and fullscreen options

Actually, what I meant was for removing the window bar when in fullscreen mode (using X11?). Out of curiosity :)

Mvowada, go to settings->configure Krita->Canvas-only settings and toggle which elements you wish to hide(so untoggle all but the titlebar), then press tab. This also hides the OS features, so maybe this is not ideal?

Thanks for helping :)

Hm, I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 - Unity, using "Krita 4.2.0-pre-alpha (git 4fb7b5b) appimage".
These are my steps to get rid of the document window bar when in canvas only mode:

  1. fresh configs + start + new document
  2. menu "Settings > Configure Krita... > Canvas only settings" and tick all the checkboxes (to select the parts that will be hidden)
  3. "OK" to save and exit
  4. hit the "TAB" key to enter Canvas only
Results: here the window bar remains visible. The same happens when in Subwindows mode.

(I will recheck with Krita 4.0.0-beta1.1 appimage since I was able then to get rid of the window bar)

Hm, just tested using Krita 4.0.0 beta 1 (https://download.kde.org/unstable/krita ... 4.appimage) and I can confirm that I can hide the titlebar there.

What's more is that, with beta 1, I'm still allowed to use the Window menu (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390942).

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I have this same issue (the one on the link) but in Plasma, up to date (archlinux), and just checking right now with the git master build, the menu still flickers but now its actually "clickable", Is exactly as mvowada describes in the bug report, when there is no windows open the window part of the app-menu displays without problems.

Just wanted to leave the comment for reference, as is definitely not only Unity that presents the app-menu problem (regarding the bug report).

As for hiding the menu-bar, it works normal right here. I can hide everything if checked. When the app-menu is active, it doesn't hides it (which is great!) making the the full screen mode even more practical.

That's interesting (although the "window" menu doesn't flicker in my case).

Ah, I see, in my box, ever since the re-introduction of the app menu in Plasma I saw the window menu flickering so fast that would not display or would close the whole menu making it impossible to select any part of the sub-menu. This week I notice after reading this thread that now I can select some parts and depending on the item the cursor is hovering it will either display correctly or not. This is what I got now.

Thus what do you guys think, still Qt upstream issue or is something with the way Krita handles the windowed mode?

Switch from tabbed mode to windowed mode in Krita's settings.
