Using krita 4.1.5
The text Tool only lets you edit existing text if you tripple click on a text box. A double, single click would be better. Text Tool should allow changing the kerning horizontal space between characters. Text Tool should allow pasting that ignores formatting of text in the buffer, so when copy and pasting into text box from multiple sources, you can bring in text in a consistent way. The font size selected in text Tool does not always relate to the actual size of text in the document. I have multiple text boxes in the same document that are all set to the same font size, but the text sizes are different. If you scale a text box, the font size should either scale with it, or it should stay the same. Being able to scale text boxes and having different text boxes report the same scale for text that appears as different sizes is very confusing. |

There are inconsistencies in this multi-click to edit a text box. With multiple text boxes, I can get one to open for editing with a double-click if another one is selected, sometimes. There is some kind of pattern there but I can't figure it out. The 'guarenteed' way to open it for editing is to select it (with the SVG Text Tool) and press 'Edit Text' in the Tool Options Docker.
The text Tool is quite a recent addition (replacing an earlier version) and is quite basic. What you could do is raise a 'wishlist' bug report and see what comments come back from the developers. If I want fancy/complicated text, I make it in GIMP and bring it in as a png rendering. |

Ha, I didn't even know about mult-click. There's definitely something weird going on with that. It's not very intuitive to begin with, at least it wasn't something I thought to try. I press Enter when I have the text selected.
