Krita Rendering Out of Sync

Wed Jan 30, 2019 6:51 pm
Hello. I managed to somewhat fix one of the rendering issues I had with Krita before. When I open the video on my computer, it still appears as a blank screen. But when I upload the file to YouTube, it's no longer blank & I can see all my animation. But now, I'm experiencing another rendering error.

Now, My animation renders out of sync with my audio. If I want my animation & audio to be synced properly after rendering, I have to move the animation back about 12 frames. It syncs properly in the render, but it's out of sync on my Krita timeline. I've tried rending the video without any audio & then adding the audio in an editing program, but I get the same result every time. I've also tried turning off the drop frames button before I render, but that doesn't do anything, either. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue? How do I resolve it?

I really like animating in Krita, but so far, rending has been a pain in the neck. And I'm really frustrated.

I saw your previous post about a rendering error. How did you fix that? It's a good idea to download and use the ffmpeg 4.1 Static version from https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ and follow all the other advice in the manual.

Assuming that you're using Windows, it's a good idea to download and use the VLC media player from https://www.videolan.org/ because it's free and will play just about any video properly. If your video plays ok from YouTube but not on your computer that could suggest a problem with your usual video player.

In case anyone here has more experience with this subject, can you tell us how long your video is in frames and in time; how long the audio is and what format of audio file you're using. All that information may be useful for someone who knows about this subject area.

You're not the first person to have this audio sync problem, sadly: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=156390

The first issue: you're using too new of a codec for the usual Windows media player to play it. Either use "baseline" profile or use another video player (VLC and MPC-HC should work).

The second issue: it's not rendering that doesn't work; it's an audio playback in Krita. It is written in Krita program itself that audio is "not supported". Tips: use WAV instead of MP3, download Krita Next or use another software to sync your animation with audio.

I've made a flow chart how to deal with rendering issues in Krita: viewtopic.php?f=139&t=156920
