Hi all,
I use "Krita 4.2.0" appimage (download link) and "Inkscape 1.0" appimage (download link) I'm experiencing a 100% CPU usage, lasting around 10-20 seconds, whenever I do: 1. start Inkscape 2. create an ellipse 3. menu > Edit > Copy 4.and start Krita. and then when I do: 5. (back to Inkscape) 6. set the Pencil > Shape to "From clipboard" (it's right below the main Inkscape toolbar) 6. create a new (ellipse | rectangle | path | spiral) 7. and copy it. Note: quitting Krita will solve the high CPU usage. Anyone experiencing the same? thanks (tested on Ubuntu 14.04) |

Hi Mvowada,
Thank you for the link to the Inkscape appimage, I didn't know about that. Using the linked appimages, I followed your steps and saw no unusual CPU usage. I'm running Debian 9 (stable) with regular updates. Note: the pencil shape drop-down chooser is only present when the pencil tool is selected from the toolbar so it won't be there after creating an ellipse. The copied ellipse pastes ok into a krita vector layer, if that's of any interest to you. |

Thanks for checking,
hm, I start Inkscape without the ~/.config/inkscape folder for testing... I'm not sure if that would make a difference though |

I just tried doing it with no ~/.config/inkscape folder. I get the same result. There is significant CPU usage on two of my eight cores (100% and 50%) for about 10 seconds when krita starts (as would be expected) but not any more after that.

thanks! Here the CPU gets busy by just copying an ellipse in Inkscape 1.0 with Krita idling. But it doesn't if I close Krita or by completing tasks more complex than that in Inkscape. |
