"Soft Keys" on Huion H610 Pro tablet?

Tue Feb 12, 2019 12:00 am
Hi!

I just got a Huion H610 Pro tablet to resume my hobby of digital painting (I broke my iPad Pro).

I followed a few tutorials and managed to get the 8 physical buttons to do what I want. I haven't done enough to decide what I want the stylus buttons to do... lol.

My question is... the tablet has 12 spaces across the top edge that they call "soft keys".

I can't find any way to configure these in Krita. Does anyone know how to do this?

I'm running Manjaro KDE on X11. The tutorials I followed have me using the DIGImend and Wacom drivers (all the buttons are set with "xsetwacom").

Any help?

Hi,

this settings are not in Krita but in the tablet "driver", but i don't know if DIGIMend can do that...

Found this on the DigiMEND github issue tracker. Posting it here if others have the same question...

Express keys don't actually exist. They are just areas on the tablet surface that the windows driver dedicates to translating into key-presses. They're mostly a useless gimmick. You can't press them without looking at the tablet, wasting your attention. That's why none of the serious tablets actually have them. So instead just bind some actions to the hardware buttons and use either a proper keyboard, or on-screen buttons instead :)

I guess I have a non-serious tablet. ;D
