For a couple hours that I've been using Krita 1.4.7 it will frequently and randomly extend any lines I try to draw

What OS? Which tablet? What's the tablet driver? Can you show a screenshot of what you mean?

Whenever I draw long straight lines, krita will randomly extend the line is different directions

That looks a bit familiar. But I've never managed to make our test Huion work even this well with our test mac, so I cannot be sure whether it's a driver bug, a macOS bug, a Qt bug or a Krita bug.
