Hi. Krita began to stop to work. It began to be happen about a week ago: Krita works about half an hour and after that appears a window with "Krita.axe stopped to work. Check on-line and close the programm. Or close the programm". Though there's no "Debug programm". I clicked on " View problem details" and here's the result:
Signature problems: "Problem Event Name: BEX64 Application Name: krita.exe Application Version: 0.0.0.0 Application Timestamp: 00000000 Module name with error: StackHash_5f65 Version of the module with an error: 0.0.0.0 Module timestamp with error: 00000000 Exception Offset: 00000000297c297c Exception code: c0000005 Exception data: 0000000000000008 OS version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1 Language code: 1049 Additional information 1: 5f65 Additional Information 2: 5f659f511dfedd51cd1c435a05fd0a7f Additional Information 3: 55dc Additional Information 4: 55dcbd18343f02557e5f544e29f872bd Read the online privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=104288&clcid=0x0419 If an online privacy statement is not available, check out its local version: C: \ Windows \ system32 \ ru-RU \ erofflps.txt" Here i add that Krita is installed on PC Asus with Windows 7. Also i noticed that Brush preset not always answers on the click (and it began to be happen, when Krita began to work with problems) What should i do? I've read "Report a Bug". Here's mentioned "If Krita stops to work - it's a Bug". Where should i send the report? I'm a novice in Krita. Described everything as good as i could. Though there may be some details i could not notice. PS. Today Krita stopped to work about after a minute since i opened it. But i can't close it and it lasts during 2 hours...Switching off computer and go to sleep.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems after starting so well. The place to make formal bug reports is here: https://bugs.kde.org/
I think there will be problems for you because you are using Windows 7. If you read this discussion here: viewtopic.php?f=281&t=160145 then it indicates that support for Windows 7 specific bugs is a not possible. Are you now working with very large images or maybe animations with many frames? You can tell how much computer memory (RAM) krita is using on the status bar at the bottom of the krita main window. The amount of RAM in your computer might be a factor if you are working with large images. How much RAM does your computer have? The fact that your problems have started recently indicate that something has changed from your initial situation with krita on your computer. It would be useful to figure out what that change is. |

Thanks for the answer. I need some time to think about the info i've got from it. But now i can tell following: I've checked Krita's Ram - it was 2025 MIB. But i enlarged it till 4051 MIB. I don't remember my computer Ram. In any case, it's technically possible to make it larger. It's what i'm thinking to do, when it will be to clean my computer from the dust. And it will be in August. Personally, i think that the lack of memory is the main problem in Krita work. Cause the brushes are used to work slowly, when i use large file (and there appears a note "Krita has the lack of memory") Also i had several sitiations, when Krita closed with large delay. The sitiations with constant stop of work began, when i started to work with not large files but on several layers - lineart, selection and colorize mask. I've read the Topic about Window 7. To say true, it's not clear for me what to do - to renew Windows or to do nothing (till the time will show what to do). I'm used to Windows 7. I'm getting used to Krita 4. 1. 7. I created about 30 brushtips of Texture Normal Map and some of beautiful Gradients. Naturally, i want to preserve them. In general i want to read Bug Reports to compare them with my case. Probably i'll make my own one and wait for solution. In any case i want to see how enlarged memory influenced on work.

If you adjust krita's RAM allocation then that control will tell you how much RAM your computer has.
From what I've seen, you can use your brushes and brush presets in older versions of krita. The easiest way to find out is to make a backup copy of your 'krita' resources folder and your 'krita--' configuration files, then download and extract the .zip build of an older krita version and run that directly from krita.exe which is inside the bin folder. That way you don't interfere with your installed version. If it works, it works. If it doesn't then you restore the backups and think about what to do next. Good Luck! |
