I am trying to create a new project in the comic manager, but Krita isn't creating the files like it should be! It doesn't display an error message or anything, it just doesn't make the project. Please help!
EDIT: People don't seem to understand this. There is no json file being created. That is the problem.

I may have misunderstood the Comics Manager but I have a feeling that it doesn't actually create files (that is up to you); it creates the project folder structure and manifest file (comic.Config.json).
The Comics Manager seems to be about organising, presenting and displaying the pages of a comic in a 'project' in the docker and setting all the associated metadata. It does that but you have to paint and then save the page image in the appropriate location (the pages folder of the project folder) yourself. Once you have the pages, you can Add them to the thumbnails chart and then later open them for editing and display them in the viewer window. You have to Save the pages yourself when you've finished any work on them. Having said that, the items Add Page and Add page From Template don't seem to do anything. Export Comic seems to fail with an error message. It may be a work in progress. |

The comics manager has a manual in the python plugin manager, so settings->configure Krita->python plugins, then select comic manager and you will see the manual displayed. Like Ahab says, the first thing it does is create a project folder with a comicConfig.json, which you then need to open.
If you do 'add page' it will ask you to select a template to add or to create a template that it will use as a base file. You can also add pages with 'add existing pages'. I've been poking at it again for 4.2, and there's now a few more error messages, but I do recommend checking out the manual for it. |

the whole point of this post is the fact that it doesn't create a .json file |

People would have understood if you'd said that in your post the first time. When you said, "... but Krita isn't creating the files ...", I assumed you meant the comic .kra files. So, is there anything else it's not creating? What is it creating? What do you do and what does the Comic Manager do in response? Which OS and what version of krita are you using? Have you used the Comic Manager before and had no problems with it? Or, is this the first time you've tried to use it? Have you read the manual as advised and explained by Thera? (I read it yesterday for the first time, it's well written.) The first time I used the Comic Manager I had some confusion but I figured it out (more or less) and it does create the project folder structure and the project .json file for me. It does other useful things too. So, what could be different about your situation? |

Thank you for that information; I didn't know that the plugins had manuals. |

Another thing to consider is checking whether you're allowed to create files in the location you're trying to make your comic project. We know that Krita doesn't want to save to the c drive directly because by default a non-admin user doesn't have writing permission there.
EDIT: Yeah, we put the plugin manuals there because we figured that people making their own python plugins should be encouraged to document them, and users should be able to have a basic place these manuals can be found, this streamlines this a little. |

Ok, I've added extra checks in the 4.2 version that doesn't allow projects to be made in unwritable directories, as well as opening the project after having made it.
