That's interesting. On my system, with fresh default configs and today's 4.2.0 appimage, I don't have different fonts on the docker titles. Also, any system font changes don't affect anything inside the krita window.

This seems to be the kind of problem that needs a developer to figure out.

I don't think developers can do much here... Which font is used isn't something Krita decides. There's a long and complex chain of components, dependent on platform, that decide which fonts are available, but there's nothing inside Krita that actually interferes with anything of that.

I would insist to either try to figure where (I wish I knew exactly where) the qt ui settings are, not only only system-wide (gnome is notorious at this though as it hides lots of stuff)
and or try to manually figure what fonts where used and which ones are been used now, it may be as simple as installing a font package. (this is because when a font is missing, programs will default to whatever is next in line available).

Maybe not in the direct sense but, I don't know if this makes sense at all but is there a specific type of font being called by these particular section of Krita? I'm not sure if there's a distinction where it reads the system's default "header" font, "label" font, "button" font, etc? In this case, which of these default system fonts are these panels calling? As it's the only part of the program with a different font. Everything else looks fine.

I don't think I'm proficient enough in Linux to know how to go about finding out these things. 😅️ I'm honestly tempted to just reinstall my OS but thinking about restoring everything again is such a daunting task

The font face is Noto Color Emoji.
Maybe you should check ~/.config/fontconfig/conf.d.

I have the same problem. After I delete(compress to xz) these config files. It solves.
But then, I cannot see colored emojis in browser.

It is not epic. I'd want to remove the range of Noto Color Emoji but it do not works.

A weird problem is, the main UI of krita is normal font. But the embedded side bar's font is hard-coded sans font, which I replaced by Noto Color Emoji.
