i recently updated my system and krita was updated to 4.1.8. I've begun experiencing a major bug in which the canvas completely stops responding to input from the mouse or tablet. I can still click things in the UI as normal, but I cannot interact with the canvas itself in any way. The only way to get it to stop is to restart krita.
The problem seems to start at random when selecting a brush from the right click menu. It doesn't happen consistently, but it happens often enough that i have to restart krita every few minutes to use it. Operating System: Nixos |

Are you sure you don't have a very small selection active?

Absolutely 100% positive I don't. I have checked, but I don't even need to because the cursor icon on the canvas stops following the mouse/pen when this happens, and stops replying to all buttons (can't open right click menu or drag canvas). As far as the canvas is concerned the mouse/pen is completely absent. |

Since you mention you're using 4.1.8, please try the appimage instead. It's also possible that nixos hasn't properly patched Qt -- and Qt 5.12 is very broken out of the box.

tried that but nixos doesn't support appimage out of the box due to a fundamental incompatibility between the way nixos and appimage are designed, and i haven't managed to get it to run. I've been running nixos on the unstable channel (which is rolling release) but i may have to revert it to the stable channel |
