Hello I am new to using krita but really like it so far. My only issue is that I want to use halftone line brushes like I have in photoshop but I cannot get them to work properly in Krita so I figured I could design one. I got close to the desired result by copying a single line and pasting it to the clipboard of preset brush tips and messing with the hatching engine settings but it seems low resolution and I cannot do anything to seemingly get the lines closer together. I have also copied multiple lines closer together but seems to always default to a standard size (larger then the lines im copying) and stretches them. Any insight onto what I could do to make a brush like this work or if a brush like this exists and someone has a download link would also be appreciated. Thank you.
Pardon the brush names, it was late. ![]() |

In the Brush Editor, with the Hatching Engine, select the Brush Tip to be Auto with Default and Circle choosen. Then go to Hatching Options and adjust Separation to be 2.5 and Thickness to be 2.0. That seems to give you the smallest possible recognisable half tone pattern. You can increase these values to see what happens.
You can try adjusting other options and sliders in these two main categories to see if that helps. |
