Krita won't open .kra and freezes

Mon May 13, 2019 2:41 pm
I saved a file yesterday and now can't open it. The problem may be from the colorize mask, or from split layers. Yesterday when I attempted to open the file the CPU was at 100%, today it's around 75%. Not sure what changed overnight.

Sorry I didn't notice what the RAM was before I saved and closed the file. There have been no error messages or unusual messages.

Using 64 bit Windows 10
16 RAM
Intel Core i7
Intel UHD 620

File uploaded here: https://ufile.io/6fp9emy5

Grateful for any advice or help.

Sounds like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407062 . I'll take a look at the file.

Btw... This is not one of the nicer download sites to use. I'm not going to pay to download a test file, and it's going to take an age to actually get it downloaded.

It opens here, but takes a long time. Two observations:

* Your image size is enormous: 12341 * 15151 pixels. No wonder the colorize mask needs a long time to calculate.
* You seem to be using the colorize mask to manually color in your lineart. That not what it is for: see https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_man ... _mask.html -- it is for automatically coloring your line-art using small hints of color you place on the canvas.
