I've been using Krita on 64-bit Win 10 Pro and tried to download 4.2 but the 104 Mb setup file wouldn't open.
But I was able to download the portable 64-bit zip file. But when I tried to extract the files, I got "Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error" on the following 8: libGLESv2.dll libpoppler-73.dll Qt5Qtml.dll krita_karbontools.dll Krita_4_Default_Resources.bundle 06_hard-grain.png Rough_Wall_With_Impasto.png watercolor-brush-medium.png I just skipped these, and when the extraction process was complete for all the other 2000+ files, I clicked on Krita.exe And 4.2 opened just the way 4.1.7 did (and still does) on my Win 10 machine. BUT a lot of the brushes are missing. And perhaps also whatever functionality the 4 missing dll's provide. Should I report this? If so, to whom? And has anyone else had this problem? And any other suggestions on what to do next? |

It would be useful to know where you downloaded this from. Also, if there was a problem extracting it from the zip file, there may have been corruption during the download process. So, have you tried downloading it again to see if a fresh download works?

The 64bit setup.exe worked fine for me, and the zip file extracted fine, so I suspect download problems.

I tried downloading it again -- and yes, even the basic non-zipped setup file opens and I had no problem doing the install -- so clearly something got corrupted the first time around. Thanks.
