I get this message when trying to run 4.2 directly after install on OSX High Sierra:

“krita” can’t be opened because the identity of the developer cannot be confirmed.

I have tried running by pressing CTRL while launching to no avail.
The previous version worked fine. I have tried re-installing multiple times.

Thanks!

Did you have the same problems with the beta? I did check just now, and the app bundle is properly signed.

THank you for responding boudewijn - I did not run the beta so not sure if the problem existed. I did find another developer that was experiencing similar issues and how he ended up solving the issue here:

https://apple.stackexchange.com/questio ... pplication

Not sure if this is the same thing going on with this Kirita 4.2 install but thought I would post. I am going to try and install on my Win10 machine and see if that works.

Thanks!

I was able to get it to run be executing from Terminal - also by exploring the package contents from Finder and CTRL-RClicking the app in the MacOS folder under Contents.

Wow, the app is AWESOME so I don't mind the extra work :) . Thanks again for taking the time to respond - impressive community!

But could you please download the beta and check? From the beta onwards, we're using new build scripts, and I need kind of confirmation one way or another :-)

installing from:

krita-4.2.0-preview.dmg - worked
krita-4.2.0-alpha.dmg - did not work
krita-4.2.0-beta2.dmg - did not work
krita-4.2.0.dmg - did not work

This is my work machine, it's possible IT has setup my macbook pro in such a way that it interferes with the new method.

Okay, thanks for testing. I'll need to check with Ivan Yossi what might have happened to the scripts.

I can confirm this happens. Boud I sent the patch to also sign the dmg, hopefully fixing this inconvenience.
