How to paint in linear space?

Wed Jun 05, 2019 4:00 pm
It doesn't matter what bit depth or color profile I use, I get dark outlines around everything.

https://docs.krita.org/en/general_conce ... gamma.html

I am trying to follow the instructions, but like I said, it makes no difference whatsoever the bit depth or color profile. What am I doing wrong here?
(Gimp 2.9+ will do linear blending even in 8 bits, and in fact I prefer it so much that I just cannot tolerate the old srgb. I simply cannot unsee the nasty dark edges)

Also, long ago there was a docker that had numerical adjustment sliders for HSV. Right now all we have is RGB values in the 'Specific Color selector' docker, which is nowhere near as useful. I forget the name of the old docker, but is it ever coming back?

What dark lines? Can you post a screenshot of the darklines you are seeing?

Hi, try File → New, in the dialog pick the 'Custom Document' tab, and select the size you want but, important: select:
Mode: RGB/Alpha
Depth: 8bit
Profile: sRGB-elle-V2-g10.icc
Then press "create" button to create the document; and paint pure green on top of pure red. Same result? Here it works.

No. It does not work with those settings. In fact, it does not work in any bit depth or in any color profile.
I am using 4.2.0 in Linux mint.

I hoping it is just something simple I am overlooking. I do remember it working in the past.

This is what I get, in the same image converting between different profiles color space (menu: Image > Convert Color space). Maybe the colorspace transform did not trigger at all on your end, but I dont understand how is that possible.

Are you using the appimage or mint packages?
