another pen pressure post!

Mon Jun 10, 2019 2:20 pm
Hi,

I've read a number of similar posts, but I think my specific issue is different. Apologies if this has been answered.

INFO
I have a 2 in 1 laptop / tablet (i.e. not a 'drawing tablet') - HP Elite x2 on Win10 x64. I am using the supplied 'HP Active Pen with App Launch'.

I believe I have correct drivers installed. This is managed by HP Support Assistant.

Krita version is 4.1.7

ISSUE
Pressure sensitivity and pen button clicks don't work in Krita when using the computer in PC mode (these both work in other apps in the same environment).

The pen works fine (if a bit laggy) in Krita when in Windows' Tablet Mode.

I've tried both the WinTab and Windows 8+ pointer input modes. The Tablet tester only registers the pen as a mouse (red line only).

QUESTION

Can anyone point me to what might cause Windows to block pen operation in Krita like this?

I would love a fix as I can't use an external monitor in Tablet Mode.

Thanks, Jo

Make sure you restart Krita when switching between the two modes. If the tablet tester shows a red line, then something or the other is blocking Krita from finding the drivers.

Thanks - yes I've restarted Krita between modes. What might block Krita like this (and not block other applications?) I wonder.
