Hey Krita folks, first of all thanks so much for this program. Really appreciate it. Especially great for us Linux users. Other than the brush lag that seems to be going around, which im sure you fine folks are looking into, I seem to have an issue with the popup palette in this latest version of Krita 4.2. I use the default right mouse click with my stylus but as soon as i let loose of the "right click" the popup palette disappears. If i right click then jerk the stylus away from the screen very quickly the popup palette stays on screen. Any advice?

Thanks again folks. You guys do a great job.

Did this happen definitely and immediately after you updated to 4.2.0 and have you tried it with 4.2.1 or a 4.3.0 pre-alpha?
Does it happen every time you release the stylus button or is it intermittent?
If you go back to 4.1.7 does the problem go away?

It's possible that your stylus button has developed a dirt/corrosion problem and is 'bouncing' on release. I sometimes have a problem with my stylus button in that if I press it so that it clicks, I then have to press it harder to make the popup palette appear. This effect goes away if I press it hard a few times.

On the tablet tester, that stylus button press is a B=2 event and its release is a B=0 event. Can you try that to make sure you're not getting multiple presses registered? It's difficult to keep your stylus still when you do that but it is possible.

Sounds like https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=407978 -- the workaround is described in comment 20.

Thanks for the responses. Once again I really appreciate this program and community. I installed ".1" appimage and the issue of the disappearing palette was corrected. GREAT JOB GUYS! unfortunately im getting a massive lag in brush stroke after 15 minute or so of use. I went through and lowered my undo, turned of acceleration "open gl" in my display setting of the program, turned off any smoothing of brush strokes, turned off allow touch painting...i think thats what it was called.... still lags occurring that didn't happen in 4.1.7. This isnt a complaint, because i can always use 4.1.7 and be very happy with it. I'm just trying to help with the little i can to report these bugs and make this program even better. Thanks again for all the hard work put it by you folks. To answer the other questions, yes if i go back to 4.1.7 all problems go away. happens every time I release the right click on stylus in 4.2, UNLESS i do it at the same time i jerk the stylus away from the screen. No im not touching the screen with the stylus. Once again though it was fixed in .1 but brush lag always creeps in. The 4.1.7 version has no issues such as these.

Hey,

I just want to share my workaround for this. I'm using One by Wacom tablet and have the same problem in Krita 4.4.8 (Manjaro KDE). The workaround is to set other than default shortcuts on stylus button 3 click in graphic tablet system settings. I use Mouse button 8 instead of right click, after that just set the same settings in Krita (Settings>Configure Krita>Canvas Input Settings>Show Popup Palette).
