inpute prioritization issues

Fri Jun 21, 2019 2:44 am
Hello, I've recently begun using Krita and am excited to explore it's vast diversity of features, however i have to a problem. I use a Wacom active pen that is licensed by the same manufacturer as the company that made my laptop that i use and Krita will stop registering the stylus in favor of my finger/hand. it still registers my stylus but only shows a marker where it is, and then on occasion decide to register it as input and draw with it, at which point it becomes temperamental and will register the stylus as pressing down even when it's a quarter of an inch above the screen. my system is registering the stylus as having a 100% charge but i'm going to try replacing the battery anyways. I've also re-calibrated the stylus and had it perform perfectly when re-calibrating it. is there a setting i can tweak to help it appropriately prioritize on either my laptop or in the software itself? any help would be appreciated.

Could you also provide the information of your computer/tablet? like model, brand, operative system, also Krita version, etc.

This information can help you getting better answers from users of the forum. :)

yeah sorry. it's a Lenovo Ideapad Flex 6-14IKB, with 16 Gigs of ram and i7 core @ 1.80 GH. i tried replacing the batteries in the stylus and it didn't help. the laptop is just from amazon and has handled everything I've thrown at it with no issues, other than Krita due to the specified problems. if someone who knows more about computers knows if there's a setting i can tweak on my computer that could be the problem i'd appreciate it!

I have no experience on Windows but I'm guessing it could be something wrong with its drivers or a configuration that needs to be set, here is a link to the Krita manual with some information about tablets, not sure if may help you, but is worth to give it a read.

i seem to have solved the issue. my computer doesn't have tablet specific drivers. i speculate it's because it's not a peripheral drawing tablet linked to the computer but rather a 2 in 1 device (i fold it in half to use it like a tablet.). what i did was go through and update any drivers that seemed relevant, in particular i hypothesize that it may have been the driver for the active stylus. just speculation though. thanks for the help! :)
