Sorry for posting this here, but i don't know where to post this. :<

On Windows 7 i can't minimize krita.
I'm using v4.2.1 portable!
Krita is in front of all other window. :'(
I have to move krita in one corner to use another window/program or better close krita.

What about if you click on another application's icon in the taskbar? What methods have you tried?

Has it always been like this since you first tried 4.2.1? Did it work ok when using krita 4.1.7? If you never had the 4.1.7 version, you can get the portable .zip version from here https://download.kde.org/stable/krita/4.1.7/ and try that to check for any difference.

Do you use a desktop PC or a laptop? What make and model is it? Do you use integrated video or do you have a video card?
Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card?

Have you made any changes in Settings -> Configure Krita since you first started to use it? If you have, go to C:\users\{username}\AppData\Local and rename the file 'kritarc' to 'kritarc-old' (or whatever) and restart krita to give you a 'fresh new installation' look, which will recreate 'kritarc'. If that doesn't work then you can restore kritarc to the previous state.

Information about all the above may help someone who knows about Windows 7 to give you further assistance and suggestions.

Now i've tried 4.1.7 portable and this version works to minimize krita.

Desktop PC.
ahabgreybeard wrote:What make and model is it?

Newest Hardware!
MSI Mainboard, Intel Core i7 CPU
ahabgreybeard wrote:Do you use integrated video or do you have a video card?

Do you mean graphic card? ???
It's a Nvidia GeForce graphic card.
ahabgreybeard wrote:Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card?

Yes, the latest one!

I don't know what that should have to do with my problem! :|

After rename the file to "kritarc-old" and start krita again, the problem still exists! :-\

Yes, i've only changed 3 things:
1. Display - Pixel Grid -> color and "Start showing add" parameter
2. General - Window - Multiple Document Mode -> Subwindows
3. Display - Canvas Graphics Acceleration -> disabled

Hope this help - Thx! ;D

We can be sure of one thing: it's something on the OS level, not Krita itself, since Krita doesn't handle minimize and maximize itself. A quick google found https://superuser.com/questions/1112744 ... bar-window which seems to be relevant. It suggests that Windows 10 itself can sometimes get confused.

ETA: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/win ... bb1?auth=1 suggests checking whether your system is in tablet mode accidentally.

This OS doesn't have a tablet mode.

And why 4.1.7 portable works for me to minimize the window?! ???

The OS version alone is not your system, is just a part of your system. there are many other users with that OS that does not have the issue. It is certainly a configuration problem on your OS, maybe the registry is corrupted? (this can happen if you use registry cleaners), maybe there a software setting in your graphic drivers to keep krita windows above all windows? (you set it a long time ago and forgot?).

Try a virtual machine, with windows, install krita there, and see if the problem persists. If the problem is not reproducible inside the VM it will confirm a configuration problem on your System (OS, videocard preferences, other stuff)

Hope it helps :)

Not tested older portable versions (since 4.2.5) but 4.2.8 works now. :-*

Edit:
But no krita splash screen at start. :<
But this is no problem. ;)
