Hello Krita people. I'm having a small issue. I cant seem to get a tool shortcut to work. It registers in the Krita tool shortcut input under 'Configure Krita>keyboard shortcuts>tool shortcuts>Outline Selection Tool' but wont actual invoke the tool. I checked to see if there was another tool using the combo and there isn't. I also have the 'alt left click mouse drag' feature turned off in linux for moving windows around. I have outline selection tool set to 'ALT+O'. What is odd is that it worked when I last used Krita before I did a system wipe and clean. Now It just doesnt seem to work. Any help figuring this out would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure Linux Mint isn't reserving the 'alt' key for something else, like can you use the alt key in other programs? Because for some distros alt is reserved for window management stuff.

I will fire up Maya when I get back from my day job and double check the ALT key. I want to say yes because I was rotating my view port around in Maya, which uses the alt key and mouse buttons but I will double check.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I can confirm ALT works in combination with other keys and mouse buttons properly in both Maya and Inkscape.

Alt still works within Krita itself bringing up the file, edit, image, view, layer etc.. menu's. I was also mistaken about "ALT+O" for selection tool invocation seeming to work on the last appimage I used. I tried it out on another system running Ubuntu with a different keyboard with the same results. Alt+F bringing up file menu, Alt+E bring up the Edit menu, etc... but Alt+O not working as a hot key entry for outline selection tool.

I also tried to assign the outline selection tool hot key to other ALT+ combinations getting the same results, it not bringing up the tool.

If I add another key to the combination it does work though. Ctrl+Alt+O will invoke the outline selection tool if said combo is assigned to it.

Could be some odd bug.

Anyway now im off to boot into windows *shudder* to reprogram my keyboard.
