I cannot work out how to fill the transparent parts of a vector object. The coloured parts are black and I want the transparent parts to be black also. Two views of the object are at: https://i.postimg.cc/ZR3gbWm1/Vector-screenshot-1.png and https://i.postimg.cc/prJ6j3pC/Vector-screenshot-2.png
In other words I am trying to make the whole letter black. Help really appreciated. |

If you'd be happy with just the 'end result' artwork having the transparent parts filled in, you can convert a copy of the vector layer to a paint layer and then use the paint tools, especially the Fill tool, to fill in the gaps.
If you want a vector shape that's filled in, that you can use again and again, you can make an empty vector layer above it and then use the original shape as a guide to construct your own vector shape that doesn't have all the transparent detail. I wouldn't try to edit the original nodes to get rid of the transparent detail. That would be far too complicated and prone to error. |

First of all, Krita is not really a comprehensive vector editor, you may consider using inkscape for more advanced stuff. At least on Linux you can copy&paste just fine between inkscape and krita, don't know about other platforms.
Though in this case, I think what you are looking for is the split operation, since the vector object really consists of multiple paths. If you right-click with the "Select Shapes Tool" active, you should see "Logical Operations" in the context menu, and from there choose "Split", that will turn the "hole" paths that are combined with the outline path into separate shapes that you can either just delete or fill with any color you like. |
